Reunion 2017 - Savannah, GA

The Goldsborough Association 2017 reunion is over and hopefully everyone had made it home

safe and sound. It was a great reunion as usual and thanks to Jim and Deb Vallin for organizing it. We missed some of our regulars, but had fun rehashing sea stories with some new attendees. I think we picked up a few new stories too. Savanah lived up to everyone’s expectations as a great city to visit. The paddlewheel tour and meal on the river allowed you to see the city from the river and then touring the city by bus after touring the Mighty 8th museum showed us the city from the other side. Touring the Mighty 8th museum reminded us of the great sacrifices of the greatest generation and the might of this great nation when called upon. We had our Memorial Service there to remember our shipmates and

their families sacrifices. The Hyatt Place Savannah Airport hotel had great rooms and the staff was some of the friendliest and most helpful we have had. One of the staff even showed some of the wine club girls some new moves for the dance floor.

Parker and Sue Willey have got started on the 2018 reunion in San Diego. It will be at the Best

Western Seven Seas on September 30 to October 4. More information will be put out as soon as plans are finalized. It was also decided the 2019 reunion will be held in Oklahoma City, so you can start planning to join us at one of these reunions.
