NOTICE - REUNION HOTEL CHANGE
Ahoy shipmates, spouses and friends!
The year seems to be moving faster and faster. We have found out that the Hotel Lela will not be opening in time for our reunion. The Nowaks have another great hotel lined up that will honor our room rates and have everything we need for another great reunion. If you already have your room reservations in at the Hotel Lela, they should transfer over and you won’t have to do anything. The room rate is still $129 a night plus taxes from Sunday, October 6th till Friday, October 11th. The room rate for the Friday and Saturday night before and the Friday night after is $149. Our new hotel is Courtyard by Marriott Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach, 151 Van Campden Blvd., Wilmington, NC 28403. The last day to book under these rates is Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Many of us have changed a little since serving on the “Goldy”. If you have not previously submitted a picture of when you were on board the “Goldy”, we are asking you to send a picture to help jog our memory a little.
If you have never attended a reunion, you will find it is a great time. Whether there is anyone you served with on the Goldy or not, you will find we are all brothers who served and our spouse and friends all have a great time hearing our stories and spending time together. The tours and areas we visit are a great way to see this great country. Our reunions rotate across the country every 3 years to make it as convenient as possible for shipmates to attend. We are always looking 2 years ahead to find a great place and shipmates to host a reunion. The 2025 reunion will be in Las Vegas, Nevada hosted by Bob Franklin and Tom Weaver. The 2026 reunion will be in the Central time zone, so we will be deciding on that at this year’s meeting. If you would like to host it, we have plenty of shipmates that will help you get through it. Hope to see you this year or at one of the future reunions.
